Dear St. Charles Parents,

If you attended school Mass last Friday with the Archbishop and our 1st grade saints, I don’t need to tell you, it was awesome! What a great way to begin a Friday. The church was packed, spirits were high, and the Archbishop did an amazing job with both students and adults! This weekend, we have our parish Eucharistic Days going on throughout the weekend. Please look below to see all the events taking place and what will work for your family. It is another wonderful opportunity to grow closer to the Lord.

Next week, on the 11th at 9:15 AM in the gymnasium, we will have a ceremony for our Veterans. The St. Thomas Academy Crack Drill Squad will be performing – always a thrill for our students. Our students will have a brief program with some singing, and the band will play. On this day, we invite all parents and family members of students who have served to join our Veterans’ Day ceremony.

There is a Kindergarten and Preschool Open House on November 13th, next Friday, from 8:00 AM – 9:00 AM. Please spread the word to other families you know who are looking for an excellent Catholic education. Please RSVP HERE.

The 3rd graders are leading the annual Thanksgiving Food Drive! Please see more details below and start sending in non-perishable food items. They collect over 3,000 items each year, and you can help them! What a great way to connect our families with local community members who are in need.

I spent the first three days of the week at Wolf Ridge, so this is my first day back in the office. The 6th graders are having an amazing time. What a great experience this is for our children. One issue that I hear about when it comes to this generation that we are raising is that they lack grit and perseverance. I think back to a moment on this trip where the kids were laughing, challenging themselves, and giving every ounce of energy they had. We were on the ropes course, in the woods, about 20 feet above ground. It was pitch dark other than the lights and absolutely pouring rain. I was proud to be with St. Charles kids who have earned a reputation at Wolf Ridge for taking on all of the challenges and opportunities that the week has available. Time and time again, the instructors would compliment us on having such a great group of kids. No trip like this is all rainbows and bunnies, but I was so impressed with the kids’ ability to rise above circumstances and perform with positivity.

Have a great rest of your week, and God bless you

Veterans Day Program ~ Wednesday, November 11

St. Charles students will be honoring our veterans with a short program in the gym on Wednesday, November 11, at 9:15 AM.  If you or a member of your family were part of the Armed Forces, we invite you to attend.  Veterans are welcome to come in uniform if desired. Please park in the lower-level parking lot and enter through door 3. If you have a family member(s) who is a veteran and you would like to honor them by placing their name on the “Wall of Honor,” which will be posted in the hallway for our Veteran’s Day Celebration, please email Mrs Seashore.
