Aside from the core curriculum, what additional educational programs do you provide?

Currently, St. Charles School offers Spanish K-8, Computer Instruction K-6, Art K-8, Physical Education Preschool-8, and General Music K-4. Students have the option of Band in grades 4-8 or Choir in grades 5-8. Click here for more information about our academic program at St. Charles.

How do St. Charles students perform on national standardized tests?

St. Charles students have consistently performed above the national average, with scores usually about 2 to 4 years ahead of nationally normed test results. The class of 2014 scored 4.1 years ahead of the national average overall and at least 3 years ahead of the national average in reading, mathematics, language, spelling, science, and social studies.

Does St. Charles School accept students with special needs?

Yes, St. Charles School accepts students with special needs. Approximately 10% of our students have an Individualized Educational Plan or a 504 Plan. While it is our goal to serve all students who wish to attend, students with unique needs are considered collaboratively on a case-by-case basis to determine if the St. Charles School learning environment can properly meet their individual needs.

Does St. Charles School offer a Preschool program?

Yes! We currently offer a 3-year-old and 4-year-old Preschool program. There are many flexible options available to meet your family’s needs. Click here for more information about our Preschool program and offerings.

What if we are not Catholic?

We welcome families of all traditions at St. Charles School. All students who attend will be instructed in the Catholic faith.

Is bus transportation available?

Yes, transportation is available to most students who attend St. Charles School. It is provided by St. Anthony/New Brighton Schools, District 282. Check with our school office to see if transportation is available in your area. Click here for more information about transportation.

What are the start and end times of the school day?

The first bell is at 7:40 am, with some students arriving as early as 7:30 am, and the last bell is at 2:40 pm. Our Aftercare program runs until 5:45 pm. Our preschool extended day program runs until 5:00 pm. Click here for more information about preschool times.

Do you offer an extended day program?

St. Charles School has a K-8 after school child care program Monday through Friday on days when school is in session. The after-school childcare program runs until 5:45 pm. Click here for more information about Aftercare.

In what order do you accept students?

Registered parish families and currently enrolled students receive first priority for registration.

What is the availability of computers to students during the school day?

St. Charles School has several computer labs throughout the school. The current ratio of computers to students is approximately 2:1.

Does St. Charles School offer a sports program?

St. Charles School offers an extensive interscholastic program in grades 5-8 with a reputation as one of the premier programs in the Twin City area. Sports in the interscholastic program include soccer, volleyball, basketball, baseball, and softball. Intramural programs are also available in basketball for grades 3-4 and floor hockey for grades 5-8. Click here for more information about our Athletics program.
