Dear St. Charles Parents!

The Borromeo Bash last Saturday was an incredible success! I’d like to thank the Bash Team and recognize Veronica Paulson, who led the team to a huge victory. Please see the article below with more details and a recap of the event’s success. A lot of hard work, prayer, emails, and hustle went into supporting our school and mission. Please continue to pray for our efforts and thank God for all of the blessings and success!

Tomorrow, we have the May Crowning Mass at 8:00 AM. This is a special spring moment in Catholic schools and communities. Our 2nd graders will process in and honor the Blessed Mother with a flower. Right after the Mass, we have the Volunteer Appreciation Reception in the cafeteria! This reception is for volunteers and people who support our volunteers! If you fall into one of those categories, please join us in the cafeteria around 9:00 AM for coffee, donuts, and a chance to express our gratitude!

Our 8th graders received the sacrament of Confirmation last Sunday at the Cathedral of St. Paul. Please keep them in your prayers this week!

All the signs of spring are showing up; we just need the temperature to get the memo. As our 8th graders are preparing to graduate, we are working on building our 2026-27 kindergarten class! Please send anyone you know who is looking for an excellent Catholic education to our website, or have them call me!

There is legislation that will soon be going through the process of being passed (hopefully) to support security in non-public schools (that’s us)! Please click on this link to take about 2 minutes to let our legislators know that we need their vote to approve this legislation. There are some areas in which the state recognizes that funding should be made available to every child. Last year, we advocated for our kids to continue to receive funding for transportation, special services, counseling, textbooks, and health services. Our legislators listened to us! Let’s hope that they listen in the area of school security. I think it is a clear need that should be supported by our tax dollars for our children, for EVERY CHILD in the state.

God bless you,

Danny Kieffer

St. Charles School Principal

Thank You! Thank You!

The 2026 Borromeo Bash was extremely successful! Thank you to everyone who donated to it, gave of their time and talent, and sponsored the Borromeo Bash. Together, as a community, we were able to raise over $318k! This is a huge step forward and will support our main initiatives of restoring the front steps, contributing to the Gary Wilmer Scholarship Fund, and expanding services for students with special needs. The Borromeo Bash proceeds will also help with our day-to-day expenses. Thank YOU, St. Charles community! A special thanks for our Bash Committee who worked tirelessly to ensure the event was a success: Maria Schmidt, Sam Borys, Marcus Paulson, Elmer Gavino, Danny Kieffer, Jen Angell, Sarah Gideo, Andrea Richardson, Kristen Noll, Kyrsten Theodotou, Kara Coppinger, Carly Pollard, Kelly Stein, Joe Dickson, Carolyn Manciu, Sharon Lopez, Matt Shamp, Pam Johnson, Chris Farhet, Tom Pitzl, Scott Vonderharr, and Jeff Salzbrun! We couldn’t have done it without each of you.

If you attended the 2026 Borromeo Bash we would love to hear your feedback to make the 2027 Bash even better. Please fill out the form here: Borromeo Bash 2026 Feedback

Congratulations to Our Missionary Essay Contest Winner

Exciting news in 4th grade! Aly T. was announced last week as the FIRST EVER Missionary Essay Contest winner from St. Charles Borromeo School! This is a yearly, optional writing contest, run by the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis. The essay asks students to describe how they are missionaries in their own corner of the world. Two women from the Archdiocese came to 4th grade last week to present Aly with an award and cash prize. She was the unanimous winner in her age group. Congratulations, Aly! We are so proud of you!
