Dear St. Charles Parents!

May always goes fast, and this one is no exception. The sunny weather has arrived, and we are enjoying the warmer weather in the morning! As we approach the end of the school year, I like to update our parents on the year behind, the year ahead, and how things are going at our school. We won’t have a live State of School event this year, but I will send out a report or video in June that will update you on everything I just mentioned.

Today is the 8th graders’ final day of classes. Tomorrow they will join us for Mass and then head out on a field trip to have some fun. On Tuesday evening, we will honor their time here with a special graduation Mass and reception. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the 8th grade parents for raising such wonderful children who are becoming wonderful teens. It has been an honor to partner with you over the years. For some of you 8th grade parents, this is the end of being a St. Charles School parent. For others, we have more years ahead of us. Either way, you and your children will always be Chargers, and we hope that you always feel like St. Charles is home. Next week, they won’t have school, and in my experience, some of them like to show up anyway 😉 This is a good sign, and we are moved that they want to be here, but please remember that visiting hours are after school.

Tomorrow is our end-of-the-year preschool program, and we look forward to celebrating with our preschoolers’ parents and grandparents. We hope that you will consider continuing to partner with us for the years ahead! It is a gift to work with you. Ask any of the 8th grade parents that I addressed in the last paragraph, and I can guarantee that they will tell you it was more than worth any of the sacrifices they made to have their children formed and educated at St. Charles.

The bus applications for next year are going out today. Please complete by June 3rd.

Our kindergarteners are graduating on Monday!

God bless your weekend,

Danny Kieffer

St. Charles School Principal

Summer Tutoring at St. Charles

Jen Gasik – Is your student struggling with math or reading/spelling concepts? Do you want your student/s to have a weekly “brush up” on skills throughout the summer?  Do you have a small group of student friends who would like to have a summer book club or a 6-8 week introduction to playing the piano? I am available for many fun learning opportunities this summer! Flexible scheduling. Please email jgasik@stchbs.org for more info!

Victoria Paine – I bring the skills of a reading specialist in addition to my regular work with any English subject matter (reading, writing, grammar, spelling). I will tutor students in 4th grade and above. I am available Tuesday during the day. Both short-term help on summer reading projects and long-term goals to improve reading are possible. If you are interested in booking a time slot or would like more information, please contact me at vpaine@stchbs.org.

Jeanne Sharp – I am a licensed middle school math teacher, and I would be available to work with 6th – 8th grade students looking for some math tutoring. Please feel free to reach out to me by email at jsharp@stchbs.org.
