Dear St. Charles Parents,

Who here likes a good Sunday celebration?! There is one coming up this weekend on Sunday, September 13th, at St. Charles Borromeo Church. This is our Back to School Fall Celebration beginning with 10:00 AM Mass. During the Mass, our St. Charles staff members take the Oath of Fidelity and make the Profession of Faith. This is our way of promising to you, our parents and the parish community, that we will live our lives and profess to our students in a way that is faithful to the Gospel and the Catholic faith. After Mass, there will be tables in the atrium representing all of the ministries that are available through our parish. Just so you know, the school is the parish’s largest ministry! There will be food and beverages and kids’ games after Mass as well. We hope that your family can attend!

As you may or may not already know, one of our 5th grade teachers resigned at the end of last week due to personal reasons. This resignation had nothing to do with dissatisfaction toward St. Charles students, parents, or staff, nor was it anything scandalous.  We are asking for your prayers for all involved as we go through the process of placing a new 5th grade teacher.

Make sure Parent Information Night is on your calendar for September 24th at 6:30PM. A format for the evening will be released next week. I know that “Information Night” might sound boring, but my staff and I promise to be entertaining, engaging, and provide you with information that will help your family’s school year run smoothly! This evening is for K-8 parents; preschool already had their Parent Information Night. At the end of the evening, Home and School personnel will be putting on a complimentary concession stand orientation for parents who are interested in volunteering at the concession stand. This is for you! Come and take part in one of the most enjoyable ways to volunteer at St. Charles.

Marathon day is coming October 3rd! Please make sure this date is on your calendar and start contacting friends, family, neighbors and anyone else in your purview about supporting St. Charles by making a donation to the Marathon.  Please submit prayer intentions and start thinking about service projects that your family could do soon as a part of the Marathon. We will start drawing prizes next Friday so get your Marathon started this weekend!  For more information see below.

Tomorrow after the 8:00 AM school Mass, we will honor our middle school students who earned honors in the 3rd trimester of last year. Parents are welcome to attend.

This is a ways off, but the Archbishop is coming for a school Mass on October 30th. More to come on that, but be sure to put it on your calendar.

Thank you for reading and God bless you!

Marathon 2026~ Saturday, October 3

MARATHON 2026 I Together we can go the extra mile! Let’s Charge into Action.

What is the Marathon? The Marathon is a community-building event that helps raise awareness of non-public education. It’s also one of the most important school fundraising events of the year. Donations raised through the Marathon go directly to the school to support many programs and are a part of the operating budget. On the day of the Marathon, students, teachers, siblings, families, and friends of the school and parish walk (or run) a designated route around the neighborhood.

Start Your Service Project Now!

Service project ideas: rake leaves, wash cars, gather clothes for donation, pack food for a food bank or pantry, write letters or visit the sick or elderly, clean your local park, volunteer at an animal shelter, etc. The opportunities to support our community are endless! The school will not lead, monitor, or pre-approve service projects. Please wear your SPIRIT WEAR to show your Charger Pride during your service project. If your student wants to share their service project experience, please use the Service Project Submission form. Service project photos can be sent to Jennifer Van Buren.  Service project photos may be displayed on the St. Charles School Facebook page. For the Service Project Submission form click HERE.  New this year: each week we will draw for a “Service Project Winner of the Week” for those who have completed a service project and turned in their forms.

Together, our families can donate thousands of hours showing the impact of the Charger spirit on our community!

Student Goals

Each K-8 student has a goal of $200 that will help reach the school goal of $60,000. All donations go
directly toward the school’s operating budget, helping support the programs and opportunities that make
our school special. The first students to turn in at least $25 in donations towards their goal will earn an out-of-uniform pass!

Share the QR code with friends and family. Scan to donate. Enter your student(s) name to ensure donations count towards their goal.
