Dear St. Charles Parents!

We are working our way through February and enjoying the blessings of sunshine.

You will find a very basic calendar for next year with the first day of school and days off mapped out below. Some parents need this information early on, so we are providing it. This is a first draft, but we are fairly confident that these dates will stand. We have not started before Labor Day in my time at St. Charles, but that will change for the 2026-27 school year. Looking ahead, I would not anticipate it going this way every year. The first day of school will be September 1st, so we will still begin on a Tuesday (Labor Day is September 7).

We are working on completing the re-enrollment process for the year ahead! Please help us by enrolling your child(ren). We will be doing our second drawing for three $100 tuition vouchers tomorrow.

As a part of our accreditation process, we released our parent survey this past Monday. We are using SurveyMonkey, so it came from: member@surveymonkeyuser.com. A reminder email will be coming out today. Please take 15 minutes to share your input with us. Also, check your spam folder if you don’t see it in your inbox.

The pick-up line has improved; thank you for that! We still have a ways to go. Please use the pick-up line at the end of the day, and do not drop off or pick up in the bus lane on Stinson Blvd. Please be aware of where the bus lane begins.

On Tuesday of next week, we will have a bonus spirit wear day, the day before Ash Wednesday. We will also have our student vs staff basketball game during the last period on Tuesday. I really am not a basketball player, but in the interest of sportsmanship, I take the court and take my lumps. Thursday of next week is Mustard Seed Day.

This weekend is Presidents’ Day weekend! Enjoy an extra day of family time.

God bless you,

Danny Kieffer

2026-27 School Year Aim Higher Scholarships – Deadline February 27

Aim Higher Foundation is a non-profit organization that assists parents in making sure that every child is able to attend Catholic school. They give out scholarships all across our diocese. Students from St. Charles have received them each year. Again this year, they have invited everyone in our diocese to apply for Aim Higher Scholarships through TADS. Click on the following link to find a flier that includes details about how to apply for this scholarship. AIM Higher Scholarship Flyer in English and AIM Higher Scholarship in Spanish.

We encourage you to apply if you already receive financial aid or think you may be eligible. The deadline is February 27, 2026.

All current families receiving an Aim Higher Scholarship for this school year must complete their application by February 27, 2026, to be eligible for the scholarship to continue into the next school year.

Concession Stand Opportunities!

Volunteering is a super fun way to meet new people, support our school, and help families who attend these events. It’s also a great opportunity for 7th and 8th grade students to volunteer alongside a parent and earn required service hours. If you’re able to help out for a shift, we’d love to have you – your support makes a big difference!

If you’ve never volunteered at the concession stand or would like a refresher training, please leave a comment when you sign up, and we’ll be sure to have a seasoned team member there to train you and work with you. Thank you!

Meetings take place at St. Charles Borromeo Church in St. Anthony, and registration ends February 12th. Register HERE and direct questions to Marge and Matt.
