Dear St. Charles Parents!

Please use the pick-up line. This is for your child’s safety and the safety of others. In the last week, we had two very scary situations where there was an urgent question about whether a child was picked up and by whom. This creates panic for parents and my staff.  If you do not use the pick-up line everyday we, the school, will not know if your child was picked up or by whom. Please use the pick-up line; there is no wait by 2:50 PM. If you arrive at 2:50, you’ll roll right through.

Please do not stop, drop off, or pick up in the bus lane on Stinson Blvd. This is before and after school. When our buses cannot pull to the curb, it creates an unsafe situation for our students boarding or getting off the bus. Please obey the signs and the law.

In the next week, we will be releasing a parent survey in preparation for our accreditation process! I’m asking for your participation and honesty in this survey. Please plan on dedicating 25-30 minutes to completing this survey. This is a comprehensive survey, and it will be used to help to build our five-year strategic plan. We take your input into consideration when making decisions. Please take part in this process! Each parent is invited to complete the survey. The survey will be released on Monday, February 9th.

Enrollment for next year has begun, and the fees will be going up soon – Sunday, February 15. If you received a reminder email today, please take the time to log in and re-enroll your students. Tomorrow, we will be drawing from the list of enrolled students, two names to receive a $100 tuition voucher! On Friday, February 13, we will draw three more names! You probably know that you are enrolling for next year; you might as well have a chance at $100. If you have considerations and would like to speak to me about enrollment for 2026-27, please email me.

Catholic Schools Week was fun and fantastic. I enjoyed my thank-you card from my child for sending him to a Catholic school. If you have not received yours, please shake it out of their backpack or pockets. I would like to thank the St. Charles staff for their efforts, especially our CSW team made up of Emma Dowell, Mary Kolasa, Tess LeBar, Maddy Long, Carolyn Manciu, Vicki Paine, and Teri Wysopal.

God bless you,

Danny Kieffer

St. Charles School Principal

2026-27 School Year Aim Higher Scholarships – Deadline February 27

Aim Higher Foundation is a non-profit organization that assists parents in making sure that every child is able to attend Catholic school. They give out scholarships all across our diocese. Students from St. Charles have received them each year. Again this year, they have invited everyone in our diocese to apply for Aim Higher Scholarships through TADS. Click on the following link to find a flier that includes details about how to apply for this scholarship. AIM Higher Scholarship Flyer in English  and AIM Higher Scholarship in Spanish.

We encourage you to apply if you already receive financial aid, or think you may be eligible. The deadline is February 27, 2026. All current families receiving an Aim Higher Scholarship for this school year must complete their application by February 27, 2026 to be eligible for the scholarship to continue into the next school year.

Concession Stand Opportunities!

Volunteering is a super fun way to meet new people, support our school, and help families who attend these events. It’s also a great opportunity for 7th and 8th grade students to volunteer alongside a parent and earn required service hours. If you’re able to help out for a shift, we’d love to have you – your support makes a big difference!

If you’ve never volunteered at the concession stand or would like a refresher training, please leave a comment when you sign up, and we’ll be sure to have a seasoned team member there to train you and work with you. Thank you!
