Dear St. Charles Parents!

Please do not drop your students off or pick them up in the bus lane. This problem is showing up once again. Please take care of this in the morning and afternoon, so I don’t have to go out there again with a light-up pointer and point at signs.

The Liz Hickman-Sue McSherry Basketball Blast and the Alumni & Friends Basketball Tournament were fantastic events. The Borromeo Bash team even hosted an Alumni Happy Hour for St. Charles alumni and friends after the championship game. I was thrilled to watch the tournament (and maybe not play). I’m sure there were a number of alumni feeling like the tin man the next day. Thank you for all the support, generous donations, and volunteer hours that made this weekend special and successful.

Martin Luther King is one of my favorite historical figures. Why, you may ask? Of course his work and life’s mission line up with Catholic social teaching about racism and prejudice. But what really inspires me about MLK is how he would stand in the face of little to no agreement for what he knew was right. He didn’t shrink in the face of adversity or danger, and he moved the world. God bless MLK and enjoy the day on Monday.

Our Kindergarten Round Up Night was great! The kids and parents all had a valuable experience. Next Tuesday, January 20th, we will be asking for your help once again to spread the word about the Preschool Parents Information Night. Everyone received a flier in that envelope that went home last week. Whether you’re coming to this event because you have a preschooler, sharing with someone you know, or both, please help us by supporting and promoting this event!

One week from today, we will be in Spirit Wear again, and the donations will go to Feed My Starving Children for when the 6th-8th graders visit there the following week! Please participate and have the donation of 1$ or more come from your child.

Our Spanish teacher, Mrs. Johnson, is taking a short leave. Her last day on leave will be January 23rd. If you have any urgent messages that you need to get to her, please contact the school office.

God bless you,

Danny Kieffer

St. Charles School Principal

Thank You For Your Generosity!

Concession Stand Help Needed!

Volunteering is a super fun way to meet new people, support our school, and help the families who attend these events. It’s also a great opportunity for 7th and 8th grade students to volunteer alongside a parent and earn required service hours. If you’re able to help out for a shift, we’d love to have you—your support makes a big difference!

If you’ve never volunteered at the concession stand or would like a refresher training, please leave a comment when you sign up, and we’ll be sure to have a seasoned team member there to train you and work with you. Thank you!
