Dear Charger Parents,

This November, we are getting a jump on the enrollment season with an event for our entry-level grades. There will be a Kindergarten and Preschool Experience opportunity on Friday, November 14, from 8:00 AM – 9:00AM in the preschool and kindergarten rooms. This is a day with no students, so we decided to start the day with this open-format event before getting to work at 9:05. Parents and children can visit our classrooms, speak to teachers, explore the program, and have coffee/juice and breakfast treats. Please show up for this event if you have any interest in preschool through kindergarten next year. Please share this event with your friends and family members looking for a great Catholic school. Here is a flyer to help with sharing: Explore Preschool & Kindergarten. We are also trying to fill up our schedule in November with tours for new families! Please share this link with anyone who wants to visit our school or have them call us.

Our 6th graders are having a great time at Wolf Ridge! We don’t hear from them very often, but that tells us that things are going well, and they are staying busy. Please keep them in your prayers. Also, with National Vocations Week, please keep all those discerning religious life in your prayers.

You’ve probably noticed that we have a Veterans’ Day program coming up on Tuesday, November 11, at 9:15 AM. This ceremony will be a short, all-school event in the gymnasium saluting those who have served our county. We will be praying for our veterans, and there will be a couple of songs performed by our very own St. Charles students. Family members of St. Charles students who have served in the military are invited to attend this event.

Coming up this weekend is our annual Eucharistic Days and the celebration of the Feast of St. Charles Borromeo on Sunday. Tomorrow, after Mass begins 40 hours of Perpetual Adoration in our church. All of our students will visit the Blessed Sacrament on Friday for age-appropriate periods of time. There is a family Holy Hour on Friday evening beginning at 6:30 PM, a 7:00 PM rosary, and praise and worship to follow. (No food served Friday evening). Vatican Nights is on Saturday evening (for adults), including a catered buffet and 21+ drinks, and the big all-parish feast is on Sunday after the 10:00 AM Mass! Please see the links provided below and make it to what you can this weekend! The Feast of St. Charles is technically on November 4th, but we asked the bishop if we could celebrate it this Sunday, November 9, and he said yes. However, on November 4th, the kids did get to celebrate with a special treat of Fruit Gushers, so yes, we are into double celebrations when opportunities present themselves.

Have a great weekend, and God bless you!

Staffing and Classroom Structure in PreKindergarten

Please see the PreK Fall 2025 Update that was sent to the PreK parents. Erin Hage is the lead teacher in the 2nd PreK room this year. Our numbers went up a little bit in August, but not enough for another full-time room, but we are able to have children in there 3 days a week. We could have put them all in one room, but using this room provided the students with more physical space, an opportunity for Mrs. Hage to lead-teach, and do it all with the same personnel that we would have needed if we put them all in one room.

Veteran’s Day Program ~ Tuesday, November 11

St. Charles students will be honoring our veterans with a short program in the gym on Tuesday, November 11, at 9:15 AM. If you or a member of your family were part of the Armed Forces, we invite you to attend. Veterans are welcome to come in uniform if desired. Please park in the lower-level parking lot and enter through door 3.  We are excited to honor all those who have bravely served our country.

Annual Thanksgiving Food Drive

The 3rd graders are hosting the 31st Annual St. Charles School Thanksgiving Food Drive that runs through Friday, November 21. The donations go to the Missionaries of Charity in Minneapolis and the Franciscan Brothers of Peace in St. Paul.

  • The Brothers need personal hygiene items and any non-perishable foods. They also requested traditional Thanksgiving dinner food items. Canned foods are of a lesser need, but are still appreciated.

  • The Sisters are requesting the following: boxed food, dried beans, white rice, maseca flour, cooking oil, cereal (any), spaghetti noodles & sauce, and any noodles (including ramen). Also appreciated are diapers in sizes 3, 4, and 5, paper products (toilet paper, paper towels, Kleenex), and personal hygiene products.

  • Special note: Please do not donate anything in glass jars for our students’ safety. Thank you!

God bless your generosity to our neighbors in need!

Prayer Partners Needed

Calling parishioners, parents, and staff to volunteer to pray for our students! This is an opportunity to pray by name for a specific student from November to April as our second and eighth graders prepare to receive their Sacraments this year. A “prayer partner” prays daily for one student (to be assigned) and writes a short monthly note of faithful encouragement to that special person. If you are interested in this amazing ministry, sign up here or email Linda Weiner with any questions you have. After signing up, you will receive the name of your student along with more details.
