The success of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic School is due to our caring, faithful, and dedicated staff. Since our founding, the pastors of St. Charles Parish have been consistent advocates for Catholic education in the St. Anthony Village and Northeast Minneapolis community. Working in partnership with parents and faculty, our school nurtures the God-given gifts of every student as they strive for excellence from preschool through 8th grade.
Our teachers bring real depth of experience to the classroom: the majority hold at least a master’s degree, and most have taught for 15 years or more. We also invest in their continued growth, supporting ongoing professional development so our faculty stay current with the best in Catholic and academic instruction.
Who We Are
St. Charles Borromeo Catholic School believes that education without an authentic value system cannot address the whole person. Faith is at the center of everything we do. Through weekly Mass, Eucharistic Adoration, daily prayer, feast day celebrations, retreats, the Sacraments, and the example of the saints, students don’t just learn about the Catholic faith, they live it, in ways that shape their character, their imagination, and the choices they make each day.
Our preschool through 8th grade curriculum pairs this strong faith formation with a well-rounded academic foundation in language arts, mathematics, science, social studies, computer literacy, Spanish, physical education, and the fine arts. Our goal is to challenge every student to excel while giving them the tools, time, and support needed to succeed.
History
Father Charles Doran founded St. Charles Parish in December of 1938. In the fall of 1939 he completed his first building project, the original portion of the current school building, which contained the Church, a small convent and the school. On September 15, 1939, St. Charles Borromeo School opened with 115 registered students and 10 faculty members. Since that time, the school has had two major additions and continues to serve the education needs of the parish and community. Learn more about the History of St. Charles School and Parish.
