Dear St. Charles Parents!

Enrollment season is going well, and our numbers are up to 320 for next year. This is good for this time of year, and we will probably grow a little bit larger than our current 2025-26 year enrollment that began at 342. Our pre-k is filling fast, and the preschool class is coming along well.

We are now placing a strong focus on next year’s kindergarten class. Kindergarten is a critical entry point for our school, and the coming weeks are especially important as families begin finalizing decisions for the fall. I’m asking for your help and support:

  • Share our school video on your Facebook page. St. Charles Borromeo School Video
  • Send an email and link our video to anyone you know who has a kindergartener next year and might be interested in an excellent Catholic education. St. Charles Borromeo School Video
  • Invite them to set up a tour, which is easy with the online scheduling on our website at stchbschool.org
    • Tours lead to enrollment. Many of you came and walked through our building and liked what you saw; that is why you’re here and reading this right now. The first item on the survey stated,” St. Charles provides an excellent academic education.” Of the parents who responded, 100% of our parents gave this high marks  – 0% neutral or low marks! This is a tremendous agreement from our parents that St. Charles is an excellent school. Please share this with parents you know, especially those considering a future for their kindergarteners.
  • Note: A direct invitation from a St. Charles family carries far more weight than any advertisement.

Help us pursue our mission of making disciples of Jesus Christ who strive for excellence in faith, virtue, service, and academics.

Please complete financial aid applications for next year as soon as possible. The deadline for qualifying for Aim Higher scholarships is tomorrow, February 27.

We have two weeks before spring break. The school year is about to start moving a lot faster. If you are new to St. Charles, this is your first Floor Hockey Season. This is a unique St. Charles tradition that takes place after school. Beginning on March 4th, our 5th-8th graders have a floor hockey tournament that runs after school through March 13th. Our K-4 students frequently stay after school because they want to watch the games and cheer on our middle schoolers. The concession stand is open, and that may also have something to do with it. We ask that parents come to supervise their children who will be spectating. In addition, there will be a floor hockey raffle going on. This raffle will support the Borromeo Bash silent auction baskets. More information to come on that. Permission slips for players and spectators are linked in this Weekly Update below.

Early Bird Borromeo Bash Registration is open for just a few more days! Please look below for the link to register and get your tickets at the discounted rate! The Bash is on April 25th, and it is our largest fundraiser of the year!

God bless you,

Danny Kieffer

Prayer Service with Mrs. Anne Flynn ~ Tonight

As many of you know, our dear former 2nd grade teacher, Anne Flynn, has been battling cancer.  You are invited to come to Doran Hall on Thursday, February 26, at 6:30 PM to pray with Mrs. Flynn via Zoom. For more information, please see this flyer.

LAST CHANCE! Aim Higher Scholarships – Deadline Tomorrow

Aim Higher Foundation is a non-profit organization that assists parents in making sure that every child is able to attend Catholic school. They give out scholarships all across our diocese. Students from St. Charles have received them each year. Again this year, they have invited everyone in our diocese to apply for Aim Higher Scholarships through TADS. Click on the following link to find a flier that includes details about how to apply for this scholarship. AIM Higher Scholarship Flyer in English and AIM Higher Scholarship in Spanish.

We encourage you to apply if you already receive financial aid or think you may be eligible. The deadline is February 27, 2026.

All current families receiving an Aim Higher Scholarship for this school year must complete their application by February 27, 2026, to be eligible for the scholarship to continue into the next school year.

Sign-ups for the 2026 St. Charles spring baseball and softball season are underway for 5th -8th graders. Consent forms can be found here. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Mr. Carpenter (tcarpenter@stchbs.org) or Mr. Hartnett (mhartnett@stchbs.org).

Middle School Floor Hockey Begins Next Week!

St. Charles School has a long-standing tradition of intramural middle school floor hockey. Students in grades 5-8 may participate with a signed 5th-8th grade permission form. Games start directly after school and go until 4:30 PM. Parents and students are welcome to come and watch the games; however, all parents not accompanying their students in K-2 must arrange supervision for their child. We encourage supervision for 3rd-4th grade students as well. All K-4 students who come to watch are required to have a signed permission form and are required to stay in the gym or the concession area. Click here for the 2026 Floor Hockey Schedule

Please note that the concession stand will be open for students during these games. Concessions may be enjoyed in the concessions area. No food in the gym.

Floor Hockey Concessions ~ Help Needed!

Please consider volunteering at the concession stand for the upcoming FUN floor hockey days in early March! We need YOU! This is a great time for 7th/8th grade students and their parents to get in any necessary service hours for the year. Remember, the VIRTUS volunteer requirements are NOT needed when volunteering for concessions. Available shifts can be found by accessing the following Sign Up Genius link HERE.
