Dear St. Charles Parents!

Tomorrow is the final day of the 1st trimester, and it is hard to believe one-third of the school year is complete. Report cards will be uploaded and available on Educate on December 5th; a link will go out that you can follow to your child(ren)’s report card(s). Please make sure that you are able to log in to your Educate account!

I will not be hosting Coffee with the Principal tomorrow after Mass as previously advertised. I will be hosting Coffee with the Principal on Tuesday, November 25, right after the morning K-8 Mass. Coffee with the Principal is a chance to connect with me and other parents. If there is an issue that you really want to speak about with me, please contact me to schedule a time. If you want to hear about the new chicken coop I’m building at home, that is a good topic for Coffee with the Principal.

Last Friday was a successful staff workday with a lot of Lumen Accreditation work completed. We also had a successful Explore Preschool and Kindergarten Event with several new families checking out our school. Most of our new families came to check us out because one of you said great things about our school to them. First, thank you! I love hearing that. Second, please keep sending us great people. If you want to have a great school filled with great friends for your children, keep inviting them!

There has been a rash of hacked email accounts sending messages to the school from many different sources in the last couple of weeks. The hackers are spreading more scam emails to the contacts of the compromised email accounts, with links and downloads included. We ask that you consider setting up multi-factor authentication (MFA) for your email account. This is a security method that requires users to provide two or more verification factors to gain access to an account, making it harder for unauthorized users to access sensitive information or gain access to your account. MFA protects against attacks even if a password is stolen because it requires an additional layer of verification.

Please send in food items for our 3rd grade Thanksgiving Food Drive. We want to make sure we do our part to help everyone in the community have a happy Thanksgiving.

Remember to put the Borromeo Bash event for parents on your calendar for April 25, 2026! For now, just put it on your calendar and prepare for a fun evening of celebrating and supporting our fine school.

There won’t be a Weekly Update next Thursday, so I’m taking this opportunity to say thank you for your support and partnership. Thank you for your communication and for placing your confidence in us. Thank you for choosing a Catholic education. Thank you for trusting us with your most precious children. And from all of us here at St. Charles School, have a happy Thanksgiving!

Coffee with the Principal ~ Moved to Tuesday, November 25

Join Mr. Kieffer for a cup of coffee and light conversation in the cafeteria on Tuesday, November 25, after the 8:00 K-8 Mass from about 9:00 AM-9:45 AM.

Annual Thanksgiving Food Drive – LAST DAY is TOMORROW

The 3rd graders are hosting the 31st Annual St. Charles School Thanksgiving Food Drive through tomorrow, Friday, November 21. The donations go to the Missionaries of Charity in Minneapolis and the Franciscan Brothers of Peace in St. Paul.

  • The Brothers need personal hygiene items and any non-perishable foods. They also requested traditional Thanksgiving dinner food items. Canned foods are of a lesser need, but are still appreciated.

  • The Sisters are requesting the following: boxed food, dried beans, white rice, maseca flour, cooking oil, cereal (any), spaghetti noodles & sauce, and any noodles (including ramen). Also appreciated are diapers in sizes 3, 4, and 5, paper products (toilet paper, paper towels, Kleenex), and personal hygiene products.

  • Special note: Please do not donate anything in glass jars for our students’ safety. Thank you!

God bless your generosity to our neighbors in need!

Concession Stand Volunteer Opportunities Coming Soon

The concession stand volunteer opportunities for basketball season will be posted soon on Sign-up Genius. Please consider signing up to volunteer at the concession stand for one or multiple time slots. Our concession stand is managed and stocked by the concession team with Home and School Council, but we need your help to operate the concession stand during home games! It is a fun way to engage with the St. Charles School community and help support all of the events that Home and School is in charge of throughout the school year.

Please click here to check for available time slots. They should be posted within the next week or so. If you’ve never volunteered at the concession stand or would like a refresher training, please leave a comment when you sign up, and we’ll be sure to have a seasoned team member there to train you and work with you. Thank you!
