Looking Ahead

We. 11.26 - Fr. 11.28 Thanksgiving Break

Good Afternoon St. Charles Parents!

Tomorrow, your children do not have school. We will miss them. You will have them. Our teachers will be hard at work on the accreditation process we are going through this year. Our Lumen Accreditation visit is in April, so there is a lot of work to do, including 69 narratives to write. Tomorrow we are digging in as a team.

Our Preschool and Kindergarten will be open for guests tomorrow morning as we host our very first ever Explore Preschool and Kindergarten Event from 8 – 9 AM. If you, or anyone you know, is looking for a great Catholic school for next year and has a student who will be 3-5 years old by September 1, 2026, this event is for you. There will be coffee, donuts, and time to explore the rooms. You can bring your child, and you can be on your way to work when you need to. Please see the attached flier!

The end of the first trimester of the school year is Friday, November 21st. Imagine how fast the rest of the year will go! Report cards will be released to parents electronically on Friday, December 5th, so please make sure you can log into Educate to view your child’s grades. We will send a notification to you when grades are live.

Thanks to Mr. Nett for leading his first expedition to Wolf Ridge. I heard magnificent things, and the Northern Lights were active. We have some amazing pictures of our 6th graders in the north woods with the Northern Lights all around them. Thank you to all of the parents who chaperoned the trip!

Eucharistic Days and the Feast of St. Charles Borromeo went on all last weekend. Thank you to the many St. Charles families who came together to celebrate in a number of ways. Thank you to our parish staff and the volunteers on top of more volunteers, who made the events of the weekend possible.

It is a great time of year; it is definitely fall in Minnesota. We are settled in, and we are making disciples of Jesus Christ who strive for excellence in Faith, Virtue, Service, and Academics.

Thank you for choosing St. Charles for your children, and God bless you,

Danny Kieffer

St. Charles School Principal

Coffee with the Principal ~ Friday, November 21

Join Mr. Kieffer for a cup of coffee and light conversation in the cafeteria on Friday, November 21, after the 8:00 Mass from about 9:00 AM-9:45 AM.

Annual Thanksgiving Food Drive

The 3rd graders are hosting the 31st Annual St. Charles School Thanksgiving Food Drive that runs through Friday, November 21. The donations go to the Missionaries of Charity in Minneapolis and the Franciscan Brothers of Peace in St. Paul.

  • The Brothers need personal hygiene items and any non-perishable foods. They also requested traditional Thanksgiving dinner food items. Canned foods are of a lesser need, but are still appreciated.

  • The Sisters are requesting the following: boxed food, dried beans, white rice, maseca flour, cooking oil, cereal (any), spaghetti noodles & sauce, and any noodles (including ramen). Also appreciated are diapers in sizes 3, 4, and 5, paper products (toilet paper, paper towels, Kleenex), and personal hygiene products.

  • Special note: Please do not donate anything in glass jars for our students’ safety. Thank you!

God bless your generosity to our neighbors in need!
