Dear Charger Parents,

October is flying! Things are going well here at St. Charles. I gave a preschool tour this week, and the couple commented on how polite and happy our students are at school. I love hearing that from visitors!

Tomorrow after Mass, we will have our Rosary Procession. October is the month of the rosary. This is going to be one of the warmer processions we have had, but it will be in the morning, so please send students with a jacket. St. Charles parents are invited to join us for this procession. Mass ends at 8:45 AM; we have time for the kids go to the bathroom, and then we assemble on the playground. The St. Anthony Police know about this procession and will be around after Mass to keep an eye out. The procession is on our St. Charles campus.

Next week, in anticipation of All Saints Day and in celebration of hitting our Marathon goal, we have added an out-of-uniform day on Thursday, October 30th. It is on the calendar, and a reminder will go out on the 29th. Please make sure students follow our out-of-uniform guidelines.

On October 31st, one week from tomorrow, our 1st graders will be processing into Mass dressed as their favorite saints! This is a tradition at St. Charles, and since we don’t have school on All Saints Day this year, we are doing it the day before. The first graders all choose a saint to learn about and then dress as that saint for this procession. As always, parents are invited to come to Mass each Friday at 8:00 AM.

Also on the 31st, we will have our student-faculty volleyball match! This will begin at 1:45 PM in the gymnasium. The 8th grade girls take on the St. Charles staff in what is always an exciting event. This is mainly a spectacle for the students, but if you have a child on the court, you are welcome to join us.

On All Saints Day, November 1, there is a celebration at our church that you are all invited to. This includes Mass, dinner, and games for the kids. Kids and even parents dress up like saints for this festivity. Please see more information below in the weekly update.

One piece of exciting news is that our veteran kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Malone-Miller has accepted the additional responsibility of being the K-4 Coordinator. She will be supporting the operations of K-4, and assisting the administration in helping the wheels turn smoothly. Thank you, Mrs. M&M!

I’ve had a lot to say today, parents! Thank you for reading until the end. Please see the Parent Information Night video if you have not already done so. Parent Information Video Link. It takes a little over 20 minutes for a bunch of information about your children’s school! Thank you for coming to conferences; we hope your fall break was fabulous!

God bless you,

Danny

Annual Thanksgiving Food Drive ~ Coming Soon

The 3rd graders are hosting the 31st Annual St. Charles School Thanksgiving Food Drive that runs Monday, November 3 – Friday, November 21. The donations go to the Missionaries of Charity in Minneapolis and the Franciscan Brothers of Peace in St. Paul.

  • The Brothers are in need of personal hygiene items and any non-perishable foods. They also requested traditional Thanksgiving dinner food items. Canned foods are of a lesser need, but are still appreciated.

  • The Sisters are requesting the following: boxed food, dried beans, white rice, maseca flour, cooking oil, cereal (any), spaghetti noodles & sauce, and any noodles (including ramen). Also appreciated are diapers in sizes 3, 4, and 5, paper products (toilet paper, paper towels, Kleenex), and personal hygiene products.

  • Special note: Please do not donate anything in glass jars. Thank you!

God bless your generosity to our neighbors in need!
