Dear St. Charles Parents,

The staff appreciation week was amazing; one more shout out to the Home & School Council for taking such good care of our staff! We capped the week with a beautiful May Crowning Mass and reception in appreciation of our volunteers. To the many parents who do so much for our school but were not able to attend due to family or work commitments, thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your commitment and work in our school community.

Tonight is a big night with our K-4 Spring Concert honoring Mary! I look forward to being with all of you parents to celebrate, praise God, honor Mary, our spiritual mother, and, of course, enjoy our precious children. They are the reason that we do it all, and we look forward to celebrating them.

Tomorrow, the faculty and I will be meeting to begin preparations for the Lumen Accreditation process. There will be more information about this in the State of the School Report in June. For those of you who are regular readers, you already have a sense of what this is. Tomorrow, we will also be working on preparations for the school year ahead, including setting the homerooms and traveling groups for the 2025-26 school year.

St. Charles School has seen some changes in leadership over the past couple of days. I’m grateful to our Borromeo Bash “Principal Experience” students who stepped in to join me in my daily duties and lightened my workload 😉 It was a lot of fun, and the students certainly seemed to enjoy it.

One week from tomorrow, Bishop Izen will be joining us for 8:00 AM Mass on May 23rd! This Mass will have music, and the Bishop will visit a couple of classrooms after Mass to answer questions and enjoy donuts. These visits were auctioned off to donors at our Borromeo Bash back on May 3rd, which seems like a lifetime ago already. We look forward to welcoming Bishop Izen to our school, and we invite all of you parents to join us for the 8:00 AM Mass on Friday!

God bless you,

Danny Kieffer

St. Charles School Principal

Introducing….Crochet Camp 2025!

New this year! St. Charles School is offering a crochet camp for current 5th-8th graders. Mrs. Schiltz will teach the basic crochet stitches and students will get to choose from a variety of beginning crochet patterns to create their first project. Did you know that Mrs. Schiltz is an avid crocheter (and knitter)? She works at a yarn shop on the weekends and during the summer teaching classes and selling yarn. Check out her website at www.maggieknits.com. The camp will be held June 16-19 from Noon – 2:00 PM in the middle school science room. (Students attending the volleyball camp right before can bring a lunch and eat in the science room  between camps.) Find all the details HERE! Registration forms can be turned into the office or to Mrs. Schiltz directly. The camp will cap at 15 students.
